Meet Jackalyn Anderson, Design Professional at ICON! With a passion for learning, a knack for staying organized, and a curiosity that keeps every day interesting, Jackalyn is making her mark on the team.

Her favorite part of working at ICON? Learning something new every day! Whether she’s exploring the design process, discovering new ways to use software, or understanding the reasoning behind design decisions, Jackalyn embraces every opportunity to grow. She credits the people around her for keeping her motivated, recognizing that being surrounded by knowledgeable teammates is one of the best ways to learn.

One of her proudest accomplishments so far has been sharing her knowledge with the team by teaching others a program she learned in school—and already seeing it put to use on ICON projects!

Jackalyn’s approach to work is observant, organized, and adaptable. Her secret to staying on top of things? Lots of handwritten notes, color-coded pens, and the satisfaction of crossing tasks off her list. She keeps her notes for future reference, knowing that even the smallest detail might come in handy down the road.

Outside the office, Jackalyn and her husband love hiking and traveling. She has visited 41 of the 50 states and six other countries! Now that they’ve moved to Bemidji, they’re excited to explore their new surroundings and bring their puppy along for the adventures.

Family is also a big source of inspiration for Jackalyn. Their encouragement has helped her pursue her passion for architecture, where she finds meaning in creating tangible spaces that make a difference in people's everyday lives. Her long-term motivation? Being able to point to a building someday and tell her family, “I helped create that.”

And when it comes to ICON traditions, she’s enjoying getting caught up on all the office history—with a little help from Allie and the ever-growing collection of ICON lore!

Jackalyn’s advice for anyone starting out in the industry? Ask the question! Someone knows the answer, or knows someone who does. You don’t have to know everything, and asking questions is one of the best ways to learn.

We’re excited to see Jackalyn continue to learn, grow, and make an impact at ICON!
