A Great Day to Celebrate a New Partnership

There are certain days that just feel like a perfect fit. Concordia’s Homecoming was one of them. Our ICON team had the chance to spend the day tailgating with the Concordia community before the Cobbers took on Hamline, and it was a great way to celebrate the beginning of a new partnership between Concordia College and ICON Architectural Group. Good food, football, great conversations, and a lot of school pride made for a pretty special day.
What stood out most was simply being around the people who make Concordia what it is. You could feel the pride people have in the college, the traditions that matter to them, and the relationships that have been built there over the years. That means a lot to us because we believe good work starts with understanding people first. Before we ever start talking about buildings, we want to understand the people who will use them, the goals behind them, and what makes a place special.
We are excited to be working alongside Concordia as they move forward with their Athletic Facilities Masterplan. This is a long-term partnership that will allow our team to help with planning, design, implementation, and fundraising support as future projects begin to take shape. The work ahead includes several athletic facility improvements, along with the long-range vision for a new athletic training fieldhouse.

What makes this partnership especially meaningful is how closely it fits with the way we work at ICON. We value relationships. We value listening. We value being involved early and staying involved throughout the process. We want to be a true partner, not simply show up when it is time to draw a building. This partnership gives us the chance to do that.

Our team will also be helping Concordia share the vision for what is ahead through renderings, graphics, fundraising materials, and other tools that can help alumni, donors, and supporters see what the future could look like. That part is important because people connect with a vision when they can see it, understand it, and feel like they are part of it.

Homecoming was a great way to begin this relationship. It gave us a chance to celebrate everything that already makes Concordia special while also looking ahead to what is possible. We are grateful for the trust Concordia has placed in our team and excited for the conversations, ideas, and work that is still to come.
After all of the tailgating fun, it’s pretty evident that this partnership is already moving the chains.
We are proud to be part of the journey. Roll Cobbs!
