Check out his Q&A below to get to know him better!

What's your name, and what do you do here at ICON?
My name is Tim Wren-Bjugstad and I am a Design Professional.
What’s your favorite part of working at ICON?
I like the variety of the work I get to do. There’s always a good mix of creative design and digging into the details of how a building goes together. No day ever feels the same and they always seem to fly by.
How do you stay motivated and keep a positive attitude at work?
I really enjoy the work we do so I don’t find It difficult to stay motivated. The large amount of coffee I consume on a daily basis usually keeps me energized.

Tell us something unique or fun about yourself that most people don't know.
My wife and I use the 3rd bedroom in our house as a library for our collection of 1500+ books. We are quickly running out of space. I’m not looking forward to the day we eventually move.

What’s one of your proudest achievements here at ICON?
I would say it’s the first time something I designed ended up being in the final design. While it changed quite a bit during CD’s the entrance for Dickinson High School was based off my initial concept and I’m very excited to see it get built.
Who or what inspires you, both inside and outside of work?
In terms of work, I’m really inspired by how much our designs affect the people that interact with them. Our work defines the experience of the user and becomes a backdrop for people’s lives. It’s a huge responsibility and that idea inspires me to push for the best designs possible. Outside of work my wife and three cats are the biggest motivation.

What’s your go-to productivity hack or work routine?
I like to write lists that break larger tasks into smaller ones. The little win of getting to cross off an item off every 10 minutes or so helps me stay motivated.

What’s your favorite team tradition or work moment?
It has to be our weekly office lunches. While not everyone goes every week, they really help bond the team and it’s a fun tradition. All credit to Austin for making sure they happen.
If you could describe your work style in three words, what would they be?
Considerate, Resourceful, and Analytical
What's one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting out in your role?
About half of the questions you might have are easily googleable. If that fails, then the people around you will definitely have the answer (I usually ask Josh or Lynnae)
