At ICON, we are passionate about creating educational spaces that support student success and strengthen academic programs. Mandan High School instructional spaces are designed to support a variety of learning styles, featuring 47 classrooms, collaboration rooms, corridor study halls, staff rooms, a testing center, and an open commons area that encourages connection and flexibility.

Our interiors team leads with a thoughtful, integrated design process that balances functionality, durability, and aesthetics. Working closely with architects, engineers, and owner partners, we consider the full user experience from the very beginning. Classroom layouts, furnishings, lighting, technology integration, and wayfinding are all carefully coordinated to support diverse teaching methods while allowing flexibility for future growth. This collaborative approach ensures that every space is purposeful, intuitive, and built to perform over time.

Behind every successful project is a team of designers committed to thoughtful problem-solving and collaboration. One of those team members is Alex Neumann, an Interior Designer at ICON who brings a strategic and adaptive mindset to each project.

Alex enjoys the variety of work at ICON, noting that each project presents its own unique challenges and learning opportunities. Staying organized, managing time well, and rotating tasks help Alex remain motivated and focused throughout the day. When creativity stalls, a simple change of scenery or moving around can make all the difference.

One of Alex’s proudest milestones at ICON was completing a first project study—a meaningful step in professional growth. What inspires Alex most is the opportunity to work on projects that positively impact their communities, reinforcing a commitment to doing thoughtful, high-quality work every day.
