Hillsboro Public Schools previously did not have a track or a grandstand for spectators to sit during events. Prior to ICON designing the new sports complex, spectators stood at football games and the track team ran on the street. The community desired a fan and athlete-friendly complex and ICON was able to provide a new facility for Hillsboro athletes and fans to call home. The project included a 750-person grand stand, a new concession building with handicap accessible restrooms, and a new 400-meter track. A new pole vault & long-jump runway, a new high-jump landing area, and a new shotput and discuss area were also added.
