The Precision Agriculture Technician Program at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, North Dakota has been highly successful since its beginning in 2012 and continues to maintain its student capacity. The previous building for the program was an 11,500 s.f. former farm implement building located nearly two miles north of campus. It was determined that the existing facility was too small to serve the needs of the program including hosting several events throughout the year. ICON was hired to design the new Hofstad Ag Center to be located on campus. The facility is adjacent to the school’s test field providing students with the opportunity for hands on learning and real-world experience before graduating. The facility is approximately 18,000 s.f. and features classrooms for instruction and training, lab space, a modern farm equipment shop for hands on learning and training, offices, and tool storage.
