To further support its mission to withstand as North Dakota’s Polytechnic Institution, Bismarck State College paved the way to build a new polytechnic education facility. The 3-story Advanced Technology Center provides the campus with a hands-on learning environment and flexible spaces that will accommodate the future of technology.

The facility is located adjacent to the existing NECE building, connected by a skywalk. There are two 10,000 SF flex labs that include mechatronics, robotic automation and controls, mechanical and electrical engineering, and other disciplines. These labs are equipped to adapt and support program and industry needs, collaboration, and applied research. The labs have durable polished concrete floors, high ceilings, and branded accent colors.

At the building’s core, is the event venue space. With seating for nearly 600 and a 40’ wide LED screen, the space is a premiere location for any event type such as theater performances, banquets, or a lecture. The commons area includes a coffee shop and several seating areas for students and staff. There is a Security Operations Center room, used to simulate real world cyber security scenarios and the Digital Hive, used for 3D printing and other digital maker-space activities.
