ICON SPORTS CENTER

GRAND FORKS, ND

Growing participation in youth hockey and figure skating created the need for a new facility in Grand Forks. The city needed more practice space and desired the ability to host more events and tournaments. ICON assisted the Grand Forks Park District in a city-wide fundraising campaign to
help fund a new facility. Through private and business donations, the necessary funds were raised to start work on a new arena.

ICON Sports Center has become the prime hosting location for local, regional, national, and international tournaments and skating competitions. The facility includes two regulation-size rinks, 500 spectator seats per rink, a pro shop, 10 team locker rooms, two officials’ locker rooms, training rooms, two concessions areas, a community room that overlooks both rinks, and administrative offices. The project was completed on budget and within a 16-month construction schedule.

Because ICON Architectural Group is committed to providing the community with great youth facilities that encourage youth to be active, ICON is the building's naming sponsor.
