infoThe 5,000 seat Scheels Arena is home to a USHL hockey team, area high school hockey teams, and host to various other events, which have included the  USA Curling National Championships and World Junior U-18 Tournament . Sustainable design elements incorporated are: geothermal heating system - capturing and reusing reject heat from the ice compressors, on-site storm water quality system controlling and circulating rainwater and groundwater through natural filtration ponds, reflective EPDM roof membrane, recycled plastic "lumber" for benches and shelving throughout the arena, and use of waterless urinals.
